Foekker 100 - is that horrible sound because the reverse thrust!? i don't remember the date, but some years ago a Foekker 100 crashed into the ground in São Paulo because this, killing a lot of people.. and i remember what the pilot said before crash... it was recorded in the the flight data recorder (FDR) (black box): "we are deviating from a school..."

Elfot, don't forget the T-144 and Concorde :) They too have afterburners and thrust reversers.

The Viggen RM8 engine incorporates a thrust-reverser to deccelarate during landings.
Only the Viggen and the Tornado carry both afterburners and thrust-reversers.

It does that with its investor of push (not certain about this words in english) that is used mainly in shortening the landing. You can see it being activated at the rear part of the plane at the end of the video.

how the Viggen do that reverse during the landing?! Can anyone tell me how? regards, leandro
