Gringo-Gaucho Exercise
The exercise Gringo-Gaucho V took place in 2004 between the US Navy (USS REAGAN, Super Hornet, Hawkeye, Greyhound) and the Argentine Navy (Super Etendards, Turbo Trackers and Sea Kings).

A quick question: did the Argentine get a chance to get the hook out and make a few traps? Or did the exercice just consisted in simulated landing, as shown in the video?
No in this exercise, only was touch and go. In 2002 the Argentinian and Brazilian navies did the ARAEX exercise where the Super Entendards and Trackers get the chance to get the hook out and make traps on the Sao Paulo carrier (ex Foch).
BTW, what's wrong with the HUD??

As a french guy, I'm so used to used to see Super Etendard literaly "control crashing" onto Charles de Gaulle, this looks almost too easy, way too much space. It looks as though the planes are crawling along the deck. Here you can really see that Super Etendard are tiny. Or is it just US aircraft that are enormous?
