It might have been a mistake, but it still looks cool. If I were the pilot, I would tell people it was a deliberate maneuver.

That is a case of "jack stall". The "loading" on the rotor system is too much for the rotor's hydraulic servos to overcome causing a loss of control. Usually caused during aggressive maneuvering.
