Not much bigger than a standard 27. Heavier though: 35,000 kg (77,000 lb) of the -1.44 vs 33,000 kg (62,400 lb) of the -27 as Max Take-Off Weight. Much brighter powerplant too: 176Kn (AL-41F of the -1.44) each vs 122Kn (AL-31F of the -27).
I have to agree that at the side of a -29 it must seem a giant though.
