De Haviland Mosquito

This is a fantastic display by one of my favorite planes unfortunetly it was the last airworthy Mosie and crashed killing both onboard in July 1996 leaving Kermit Weeks Mosie the only airworthy example ,but what I dont understand is if they are of all wood construction why not build one I mean after all they have pulled planes that have been sitting in the ocean for 50 years and made them airworthy

It was built from ply wood for strength but more important was the wood was not a stategic material unlike metal alloys that were becoming scarce, it was a DOD requirement that the aircraft be built this way.The pay off was an aircraft that was not costly to build, very fast and able to absorb considerable battle damage. One would think that you would have done some surfing and reading if you would count it as a favourite!
