This is footage of a red Spitfire (G-FIRE) displaying at Ards airshow. My father took this footage. I think the year is 1984. Quality isn't great as it was taken from VHS. Anyone want to guess how low the Spitfire is at the 1 min 3 secs mark...?

That's one of the most powerfull variant of the Spitfire (FR14). It carries a 2000 hp Griffon 65 or 66. So yes, it may appear a little bit faster than average Spitfire, like the Mk IX.

is this movie speeded up? or are they just flooring that thing? since it seems to fly allot faster then it des at most airdisplays of those old ladies. i know they normaly never max throttle etc on displays to preserve the engine etc. any info on this?
