JF-17 Thunder Promo Video

The FC-1/JF-17 was originally known as Super 7, and the project was originally called Saber 2 by the PAF(Pakistani Air Force). It will also replace F-6s as well, and some other aircraft, too.

Other aircraft that the JF-17 will replace are the Q-5 Fantan attack aircraft, and, the Mirage 3/5s.

Another thing the FC-1/JF-17 has in common with the LCA is its intakes, and they look the same, too. The intakes on the FC-1/JF-17 make it stealthy.

The name of the FC-1 is Fierce Dragon in Chinese service, while the JF-17 is, well, obviously, the Thunder.

Wow!! This is so cool!!!! There is a video of the FC-1/JF-17 Thunder!!!!!!!!! Extremely cool fighters!!!!!!! China and Pakistan are working together to build the FC-1/JF-17. FC is Fighter China, and JF is Joint Fighter because this is a joint project between China and Pakistan. Just like India, Pakistan is buying an indigenous fighter to replace its Mig-21 variants, which are the F-7s, Chinese copies of the Mig-21, and, the FC-1/JF-17 is also a single-seat single-engined fighter like the Indian LCA(Light Combat Aircraft). Imagine JF-17s taking on LCAs, and J-10s taking on Flankers, and both of them taking on all the other fighters that India has. Awesome!!!!! These Fighters are really good fighters, with exceptional performance, and, like the Flankers, and all the other superfighters, they make great export fighters.

Just amazing! it was first believed to be a medium-tech fighter, but now because of completely new and modern avionics, ECM, EW suites, cockpit and airframe, it has now become a high to very high tech aircraft! congratulations Pakistan and China.

Learn from everybody, copy NOBODY, real combat will prove it.

In any case, this aircraft has curious familiarities with it's [western / northern] counterparts (USA, Europe and Russia). I guess that even with this sort of collaboration their engineers can't come up with anything on their own... sad :
