Russian-Kazakh Military Exercises (Special Ops)

According to a press-release issued by Kazakhstan Regional Command (RC) VOSTOK, joint Russian-Kazakh command post exercise Interaction-2008 is held in the Eastern Kazakhstan Region.
The exercise under control of RC Vostok is held in military grounds Shyghys. The press-release reads: “It is one of the stages in training the staff for special operations within the framework of a bilateral agreement between Kazakhstan and Russia on joint planning the use of troops to provide for security of both countries”.
The objective of the exercise is to achieve coordinated work of combined force command posts in preparation of special tactical operations, and test the degree of personnel readiness.
As quoted to the press release: "The militaries also train their skills in provision of interaction between Russian and Kazakh command posts in comprehensive support of military operations. They improve their tactical and combat skills. Besides, the exercise promotes generation of high combat abilities and morale”.
It is expected that on the last day, June 11, Kazakhstan Defense Minister Daniyal Akhmetov and Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdukov will take part in the exercise, InfoSHOS reports..
