Russia Shows Off Its New SU-35 Fighter.

It has long been acknowledged that the awesome displays from the russian super-maneuverable fighters have little operational use, but I still believe more conventional airplanes could use the extra maneuverability offered by thrust vectoring... I mean, some manufacturers are boasting their canard wings increasing maneuverability, but they could gain more with thrust vectoring..

I thought Su-35 variants had canards. Well thrust vectoring may be too much for a typical service pilot. There are already planes that can "out fly" their pilots and the expansive potential of thrust vectoring might be too much to "waste" on high volume service planes. I don't think standard training doctrine and personal pilot equipment are up to the challenge of harnessing the abilities of thrust vectoring. Most of these awesome manuevers put on by these planes are done by pilots with way more flight hours than service pilots, not to mention these pilots have elite skills and talents.

3-D thrust vectoring makes so much sense. I wonder why the rest of the world is just too lazy to incorporate the technology to their planes..
