Ukraine Aquits 4 Generals Over Airshow Disaster.
KIEV, June 11 (Reuters) - Four Ukrainian generals were acquitted of negligence and violations of procedure on Wednesday in connection with a 2002 air show disaster in which a fighter jet ploughed into a crowd and killed 77 people.
Interfax Ukraine news agency said a military appeal court in Kiev found the four not guilty because of lack of evidence.
A court order impounding their property was lifted and civil cases brought by relatives of the dead dismissed.
In June 2005, a military court in Lviv jailed two pilots and organisers for up to 14 years for failing to fulfil orders, negligence and violating flight rules in the disaster at an airfield outside the western city of Lviv.
The Sukhoi-27 craft failed to pull out of a difficult rolling dive, clipped the ground and cartwheeled into the crowd on July 27, 2002.
The crew ejected shortly before the plane hit the ground. More than two dozen of the dead were children

The main cause of the deaths was the plane desintegrating and exploding, sending lots of metal fragments through the public. Very disturbing images, with people cut in half, limbs on the ground, etc. :|
