Historic Plane Comes In For A Rough Landing

An historic plane has skidded off the runway at the Berlin air show. The Messerschmidt Me 109 - used by the German air force in the 1930s and 40s - came off the tarmac shortly after landing. The pilot was not injured.

Yup, they definitely re-opened the FW-190 "production line", with all aircraft being delivered with original tailwheels built in the 1940s!

i think they reopened the production line for the FW190 in germany and for the Me 262 in the US, but for the 109 maybe one or too are still flying in the UK with the merlin engine.

That was not a rough landing. It looks like the right landing gear locking mechanism failed.

Ouch! I can't believe they could have almost destroyed such cool airplane. But statistics in WW2 show us, that 60% of those crashed when take off or landing.
