Iranian f-14 armed with hawk missile

I am proud to My country Air Force

As youknow Hawk is a ground to air missile but we have matched it as an air to air. It is not as good as AIM-54 but it works.

Iran is the only country still flying the F-14 Tomcat. The aircraft are meticulously maintained and are still very much a threat as are the F-4 Phantom II's they still use. They still have a few Pheonix missiles but have indigenously developed weapons ranging from AAM's, SAM's to LGB's.They also have various MiG's and Sukhoi's and are buying more modern,potent aircraft from Russia.I can understand why some people in the know regard them as a threat to peace in the middle east.

themouss...sorry, you dont know anything. Go study the F-14 and then come back to here with some knowledge.

I read about the IAF rigging a few '14s to carry the Hawks. No one is really sure how well they really work.

sorry i didnt really reply, the funny thing is that the hawk is a SAM not an air to air missile

iran bought a LOT of us harware in the 60 70 ( they actually founded the f14 program and a bit of the f 16 program too) after the islamist revolution and several years of war against irak ( and the rest of the world) they ran out of working phoenix missiles, they try this hawk/ AWG 9 integration, but this has not been used in combat ( as far as I know),
few people knows that but the iran (islamist) air force make very good use of f14/ f4 combination against everything the iraki could by. it took the iraki 6/8 years until they could finaly field the mirage f1eq6 with super 530 d missiles, that could match/ and bring down f14 ( but only if they could come close enough)
iramiam air force has more experience in f14 combat that the USN.
