3. Come into a folder and download film in parts, parts somewhere on 100%u041C%u0431.
4. Then open on the computer and look in Windows Media Player.
5. For qualitative viewing on your computer the full set of video of codecs
should be established.
6. All films about aircraft also are created in a jungle of my system:

I'm just a tad disappointed that there is no method of editing one's entry. Sometimes in the enthusiasm and haste of the moment one sends a message without proper pre-editing. A second chance would be most welcome.
There are at least two incidents in my previous message.

In 1942 as an Aviation Cadet, I took a course in Aviation Engines. We had a crusty old Sergeant as the instructor. He wold bristle and bark if anyone used the word "motor" to refer to and engine.
A motor is always "tethered" to an external source of energy.
An engine is totally a package, independent, free to move where it wishes as long as there is available fuel.
I have a personal reservation with the authenticity of an opinion of anyone who uses "motor" when they are referring to an "engine".
Sorry!!!!

I was a fighter bomber pilot in the Mediterranean 1943-44. I was released from active duty in Fall 1945. I had MOS's as Pilot, SIngle Engine; Operations Officer and Engineering Officer. We two dead stick landings. One pilot, newly overseas was checking out in an A-36A when the engine quit over the field. It sank faster than the P-40 he had trained in and he stalled in the last turn into the field and was killed. The second was in Louisiana in 1945, one of our pilots took up a questionable P-40 and the engine quit on takeoff. He did the big no-no, turned it around and landed it successfully dead stick. 50% survival is better than 0%.

Not to be a Monday morning QB, and no disrespect intended. This is the landing that then Capt. Chris Rose made after the No. 3 bearing failed. Capt. Rose was a pilot for the 121 FS " Capital Guardians" D. of C. ANG. The engine did not catch fire which can happen, but did fail to relight. Also, when you land engine out, you dont have to clear the runway. Im not even going to say why. Finally when you blow the gear down, you can still steer using differentual braking if need be, and untill your 75 seconds of brakes are gone. By the way....Capt Rose won the 1996 Koren Kolligan Jr. Award for his handiling of F-16C, 86-0255.

First, he didn't land at a SAC base. Second, if the motor seized he is operating off the JFS accumulators for emergency braking. If he tried to clear the runway "for the big boys" he would've probably ran out of brakes. Finally, if he alternate gear extended he doesn't have nose-wheel steering. My point is, we don't know exactly what happened so quit being a Monday morning QB.

This was great video. It brought back feelings I hadn't had in 50 years. I had 3 such lands in and F-86D/L. The pilot did a great job, however, I believe he should have cleared the runway after landing. It is probably just me. I was always at a SAC base and you had to keep the runways clear for the big boys. We also had 10 of control time using a battery if the engine froze. Keep your speed up and the dirty side down.

The EPU is designed to run on hydrazine and bleed air pressure. The EPU uses hydrazine to start but can run on bleed air if you are going fast enough. If it is running in hydrazine only mode, then you have about ten minutes, depending on how much you use the controls. The flame out pattern is designed to handle a 50 knot headwind. The AOA window is based on the 210 stores and fuel. Must folks would carry a few extra knots for the wife and kids, but not too much. Once flared and into ground effect it is hard to slow the jet down.

The "FalconAF" computer game-sim manual says that in flameout landing the best glide ratio is achieved at 210-220 with gear down ( 4 knots for every 1000pounds of gas or external stores )and the flameout glide path should be around 11 and 17 degrees on aproach. Doesn't say how many minutes the Emergency Power Unit holds but i guess it depends on how do you spend it in maneuvring mostly (once you lower the gear manually you can't retract it back for you might not have enough EPU fuel to extend again and maneuvre). Game papers aside, this was beautiful perfect flameout landing. really intense just watching it..

Wow. An F-16 isn't exactly made for a long duration glide with those stub wings. What speed does he have to stay at to avoid a stall with no power? I would have been breathing a hell of a lot more than he was. What a stud. Only single engine plane I can imagine would be tougher to land would be a 104. Thanks for the hydrazine comments guys. I did not know that. How long are the hydrazine tanks good for? 10 mins?

Superior airmanship of Air Medal quality. He saved the civilian residential and business communities the jeopardy of a unmanned aircraft crash, the AF a multi-million dollar aircraft with a loose ejection seat and the risk to the pilot associated with ejection. Every aviator hopes he has the stuff to do what this AF or air guard pilot did. It proves our training is the best. And, the controller on the gound did a calm and excellent job as well. BRAVO ZULU to all involved.

As a former KC-135 tanker pilot, I can only imagine this situation even though we all did it in jet trainers during our training but even then the engine was in idle, not flamed out. This guy is cool.

Hydrazine was also used as a rocket fuel for the Messerschmitt Me 163B under the name B-Stoff (hydrazine hydrate)

Yup. Once the hydrazine APU has been used, the stuff is so toxic that they have to approach the plane wearing protective suits with breathing apparatus.

Hydrazine is most definitely NOT a coolant. It is a very toxic fuel used by the EPU to generate electrical and, I believe, hydraulic power for emergency use. This stuff is used for reaction control motors on the space shuttle as well.

hydrazine is used to propell a small generator called the EPU it is not coolant but a fuel, it is toxic because is is highly cancer related.
The EPU is an generator which will provide hydraulic pressure and electrical power for a short periode of time if engine is stalled.

hydrazine is used as a coolant on the f-16 and it is real nasty s***, so if he was leaking it they would have had to get a fire crew there quick to contain and cordon, it really isnt very good for you.
