SUPERGT thanks i learned a lesson again
and, after reviewing the film again, it seems he lost not only aileron control, but if you look closely, it also seems he either lost, or accidentally hit the rudder petals during the turn (you know how hard it is to control foot movement and such when performing rolls and loops). What I mean is if you notice, he starts out with the aileron roll. THEN the aircraft starts to tumble/cartwell to the left. Seems that way to me.
Thats just the F-18's natural flight characteristics. The fact that the oscillations became overpowered, is what caused the aircraft to lose control.

Man....that was close! What happened? Did he get into some kind of spin?
A sequence of stalls like this is called "porpoising". This test/maneuver, in many combat aircrafts, it is prohibited. Sometimes, you get in this horrible situation when you make a lot of rolls at high speed and with full stick to one side (as you can see in the video). The better way to get out is to free the controls or move them slightly forward with level ailerons, and let the plane do what he wonts till he decides to finish the torture. Generally, if you do something cleaver with the controls, the situation it´s gonna be worst in a few seconds. Of course, after that, you have to RTB, land, kiss the ground and go straight to the squadron's bar to drink a couple beers because you are lucky to be alive. :)
Thanks a lot!
why didnt he try at a higher alt.?

RTB = Return to base.
