Carrier Landing

Cockpit view of a carrier landing by an S-3 Viking. They are commonly nicknamed the "Hoover" because of the high pitched engine sound. The Viking is primarily a carrier based, subsonic, all-weather, twin-engine anti-submarine aircraft but its role has been also extended into aerial refueling and surface attack/surveillance. Others have been converted for the ELINT role.

Yes, you can hear that they throttle up right upon hitting the deck and throttle back shortly after.

awesome, i always wanted to know if it was true that they applied full throttle once the touched the deck in case of an abort is needed. Now i know.... also its not a fixed camera, you get a whole different perspective...! Way to go.
