David Burdine (an ex F-14 instructor) now flies his beautiful blue and red MIG-17 at airshows across the midwest. This is his demonstration from the Southern Wisconsin Airfest 2006 in Janesville WI. Davids bird is an Polish licensed built aircraft made in 1960 and served in the Polish Airforce untill being withdrawn from service in 1990 (wow 30 years). The MIG-17 was one of the first aircraft to be equiped with an afterburner, which by todays standards looks quite a bit different than burners most of are used to seeing.
Sorry about the shakey start but trust me it gets much better once the aircraft starts moving.

Hehehe it's great to see old polish bird in hands of new american ex TOMCAT pilot,
I know there's more polish MiGs 15s, 17s, 19s 21s, and 23rds in USA, what a historic paradox !, before they fought with them, now they fly on them.
Best wishes from Poland ;-)
