There's a maneuver that has a similar name that's called the viper maneuver. It was accidentally performed by an Su-33 Naval Flanker when it nearly crashed. Yeah, the Rafale and the Gripen are very similar aircraft, with canards, but the Gripen has only one, whereas the Rafale has two. Rafale was made because the French were complaining that they didn't get design leadership and the fact that they didn't get a major share. However, fighters including the Gripen, Rafale, Su-35 Super Flanker, Su-37 Terminator, and the Typhoon have amazing agility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When the Typhoon was at the Farnborough airshow in 1998 I read in my 2nd favorite book, Superfighters last night, it said that the Typhoon has agility that was unmatched by other fighters present at the airshow!!!!!!!!!!!! Pulling 7.25 g's, just about as much as the amount of g's pulled by the Su-34 Platypus, a.k.a. Su-32 Strike Flanker, which also says in my Superfighters book. But production Typhoons are planned to pull more than 9g's, now that's incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Used to be my favorite airplane and fighter, nevertheless, I'm still impressed by it's incredible agility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go fighters, reign the skies forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to dislike this aircraft, it's slowly growing on me though. Look like a very agile but stable all at the same time. Seems to be very forgiving.

Only the F-22 and Sukhoi can beat this.
