Who on earth can make such a music selection??? Anyway... maybe it is a basic error but one should remeber: the cafe owner across the street would never do such a mistake... but he also doesn't fly airplanes. At least he survived and I bet that this video has been used to teach new pilots one of the most important mistakes that should be avoided. We're all great top guns sitting here in front of the computer.

I'm sorry, I can't believe that he was German---he had to be a Brit. I mean, who else flies with Benny Hill theme music as their background track. Had to be a Brit... Lol!

I confirm the pilot was a German guy in exchange with French navy. Perhaps was it one of his first t/o and may be was he not self-confident enough?

he was from germany, for an exchange with france in 2003. sent back home, exempt from manoeuvre in sea...

Thanks for the comment, Chris. I thought the same, because there were nothing to say that it was engine malf or anything. I simply surprised that pilot made such a stupid error. Such things are basics, and so far as i know Naval pilots are almost always far more experienced than army and other ground ones.

it was in mediternean sea, it was a pilot error. During a catshot the pilot must not pull the stick. Even if you want too, because the a/c is trim for the t/o, and you re too close of the stall speed.

BTW, forgot to say. Just amazing! Four(!) diffirint cameras to shot one accident and all did it in a good way-an exceptional event, especially in military aviation(not airshow)

Is there any detail about the crash?(Who, When, Where, Why?) Is that a pilot's mistake? I mean i find that he went too verical after the catshot and i guess it was the cause.
