A prototype of the 5th generation Russian MiG fighter designated 1.44, shown while towed and during takeoff. MiG 1.44 is the result of Mnogofounksionalni Frontovoi Istrebitel (Multifunctional Frontline Fighter) program which envisioned air-superiority fighter with advanced electronics and BVR engagement capabilities, powered by two vectored-thrust afterburning turbofan engines. At present times it remains a technology demonstrator.
