Always keep a good distance to avoid wake turbulence! Don't know what kind of aircraft is, may be a F-16?

I would love to know what bad call the controllers made. They sent the following aircraft around and there is NO requirement to issue a cautionary wake turbulence advisory when a large aircraft is following a large. I was an air traffic controller for 12 years, and people like you who have no clue what they are talking about just bug the living crap out of those of us who do. As for the ejection seat clue, yes the video tape usually goes fuzzy, but the best clue is the ELT beeper. It goes off the instant the seat leaves the jet. In USAF Fighter aircraft, the ELT is part of the seat, not part of the jet. In civilian aircraft, it is part of the aircraft because people in civilian aircraft almost always arrive at the scene of the crash at the same time as the aircraft. You find the aircraft, you find the people.

They actually have tapes that record the HUD. You throw them in before you get in the jet.

The flight data recording systems are usually digital, so they gather information from the HUD video and the flight data computer. This info is kept into some kind of digital storage device, like a catridge or a pendrive, that the pilot can easily put in or out of the aircraft.
About the pilot, yes he ejected from the aircraft seconds before running out of the runway

There is a black box on the F-16, but I'm not sure if it's crash resistant, don't think so. Usually those things are as light as possible on military planes. So when did he eject? Was it when teh HUD went apes*** just after departing the runway?

i always dont know whether the cockpit vid recording is transfered realtime back to base, or rather there's a "black box" in the plane which can be retrieved later on?

This was at Luke AFB back in 2001. Even the WT from a Viper can take ya down apparently.

According to F-16.net:

Major Yarema Sos ejected while the landing gear collapsed on touch-down at Luke AFB. The aircraft came down three quarters of the way down the runway. The F-16 was caught in the turbulence of the aircraft before him and hit the ground well over the structural design limit of the aircrafts landing gear system resulting in a collapse.

From the looks of the video, he landed just past the gear on 21R...not 3/4 of the way down...maybe they meant "came to rest". At the end of the video, you can see the White Tank mountains in the background. ;)
