The Air Force is retiring the MH-53. The replacement is the V-22 Osprey. The Navy and Marines are continuing to fly their versions of the H-53. In fact, there are new 'K'-model H-53s being built by Sikorsky for the Navy and Marines right now. It is packed with a LOT of improvements and updated electronics. Heroux-Devtek was awarded the contract for Landing Gear design, so it must be a heavier copter. So have a heart, the H-53 will continue to fly for the Navy and Marines for quite some time!
