Nope....its all done by the camera.....I could never focus fast enough....lol
What really, my 70-300mm says AF and its Manual Focus, isnt AF-S Auto-Focus.

You shoot RAW right?..That was my first show shooting RAW. I need ALOT more memory if Im goin to shoot a big show using RAW (only 3 GB). What do you use to originally screen your pics to figure out which to work on?

Dayton's GA is pretty good. If you sit in the left GA section you'll be pretty close to show center. The only thing is that the showline is pretty far from the crowd. If it were up to me, I'd get there a little before the gates open. You've got a loooong walk through the statics to the GA area. Head to between the big white tents of the corporate chalets and the umbrellas of the pavillion seats. That's where the closest spot to show center is. The front row fills up almost instantly, so if you're later don't expect to be near the front.
Even though you're media, you pretty much need an inside hookup to get a ride. They're pretty much for TV, radio, or newspaper guys so that they can spread the word about the show. Even though I was 'media' at Dayton last year, no one even talked to me, much less mentioned a ride. Same with this year. Good luck though!
Yeah I shoot RAW. Up until this past weekend we never hard an issue with memory, we never used more that 6GB. This is our first year with a Sigma 50-500mm, which opens up so many more possible shots. We used up 11GB of memory each day! It was 3000 pictures total. I don't plan on doing that again! lol.
I use Photoshop CS2 to go through the RAWs, it's got a cool filstrip feature that lets you view up to 100 photos at once, scroll through and preview them any size you want, and mark them for deletion. You can also do all of the pre-editing if you're into the in-depth stuff. Then you can select the non-deletion ones and open them to edit like normal. It's pretty cool and a big time saver. What do you use so far?
