Wallpaper F-16
A nice closeup photo of a viper driver, probably taken from a tanker boom controller's point of view.
It's nice to be used as a wallpaper on your desktop, isn't it?

Seagull "Airshow Preparation"
Before photographing an airshow, i try and locate birds that would allow me to come up close to them. I practise my focussing; composition; the most suitable shutterspeed for the effect i want and the amount of apperture compensation to get enough shadow-detail on my subject. The next day during the photo-shoot you will be amazed at how "static", very fast aircraft move.
Over The Islands Of Palau
Palau, officially the Republic of Palau, is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean, some 500 miles (800 km) east of the Philippines.
Having emerged from United Nations trusteeship (administered by the United States) in 1994, it is one of the world's youngest and smallest nations.
It is sometimes referred to in English under its native name Belau.

Apache Longbow at sunset
The AH-64D Longbow is fitted with the Longbow millimetre wave fire control radar and the Longbow Hellfire missile.
The Longbow fire control radar incorporates an integrated radar frequency interferometer for passive location and identification of radar-emitting threats.
An advantage of millimetre wave is that it performs under poor-visibility conditions and is less sensitive to ground clutter.
The short wavelength allows a very narrow beam width, which is resistant to countermeasures.

Rooivalk "African Sky"
This past festive season gave me some time to be a little creative so i used two images that i photographed and created this dramatic "painting". The Rooivalk helicopter(16Sqn) fired these rockets during a training operation near Bloemfontein and the sunset i photographed from a moving car near Johannesburg, South Africa.
Lightning Forces of Nature
The call was to abort heli-flying and return to base. I took these pictures 2hours after flying around those same mountain peaks in the Drakensberg Mountain Range in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. The weather can turn very bad in no time in these mountains. What is the chances of not being hit by lightning in this photo!?
Cockpit sunshade!
Captains can have very creative ideas some times!
This particular one, "professionally" managed to use his personalized checklist (checking the copilot mostly) and some beautiful "Head Up Display" also, to rest his eyes on it, during the long and boring auto pilot flight hours.
All that, combined in a shade to keep the sun rays out of the cockpit...!!!

Gripen "On Golden Edge"
Gripon fighter-pilot from Sweden, practising his airshow sequence at Air Force Base Waterkloof, Pretoria, South Africa. Our air force is in the process of receiving a fleet of these beauties. I cannot wait to have them all to myself...
