Cheetah "Glowing Fighter"
Cheetah fighter photographed during the "Fighter-meet" in Machado, South Africa. It is an airshow for fighter aircraft only. Anybody can participate and we had African Air Forces and a few civillian fighter-owners take part in this event. I used a 300mm lens with a polarising filter to enhance the colors.

Rooivalk "African Sky"
This past festive season gave me some time to be a little creative so i used two images that i photographed and created this dramatic "painting". The Rooivalk helicopter(16Sqn) fired these rockets during a training operation near Bloemfontein and the sunset i photographed from a moving car near Johannesburg, South Africa.

Oryx "Vultures"
Oryx helicopter from 17Sqn, Swartkop, South Africa, landing in a very confined space in the upper Drakensberg mountain, in a waterfall. This was a really scary experience for me. The rockfaces are metres away from the bladetips on three sides.

These old, little aeroplanes have served our air force for many years and you will not convince any of these 185-pilots that there is a better plane on the planet.

Alloette helicopter flown by 17 Squadron pilots in the Drakensberg Mountains, South Africa. I used a 18-70mm lens at 250/sec and fill-in flash to get the 1:1 ratio lighting in the cockpit to the surroundings.

Oryx helicopter preparing to depart for peacekeeping operations in the Great Lakes Area in the heart of Africa. I took this photograph early in the morning. I was amazed at the amount of shadow-detail that i got with the morning sun behind the Oryx. I over-exposed my subject by +0.7step at 1/125sec at f/11 using 70mm lens.
