Modern cockpit of the F-5EM, using new radar, weapons and eletronic warfare. The modernization is in course by Elbit and Embraer.
The Brazilian Air Force is buying aditionals F-5 Tiger II fighters to convert to its program, the F-5BR. A new fighter squadron was created in the Northeast of Brazil this year, using the F-5 Tiger II. Some planes arrived last month, bought from Jordania. In this special case of buying, some jordanian fighters were alredy modernizated. More than 55 Tigers are operating in the Brazilian Air Force, and the number could rise to 70 fighters of this version.
The kill rate of the F-5EM during the Red Flag 2008 it was 14/10 (the brazilian pilots killed 14 times the Aggressors when died 10 times). It was the same ratio kill of the 48th FW from Lankenheath, using the F-15 Eagles!
