Pararescue Training
Pararescuemen from the 58th Rescue Squadron fast rope out of a HH-60 Pavehawk to reach a simulated crash site July 27 as part of a mass casualty scenario in exercise Angel Thunder. The mass casualty scenario involved two CH-47 Chinook helicopters crashing.
HH-60G PaveHawk
The primary mission of the HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter is to conduct day or night operations into hostile environments to recover downed aircrew or other isolated personnel during war. Because of its versatility, the HH-60G is also tasked to perform military operations other than war. These tasks include civil search and rescue, emergency aeromedical evacuation, disaster relief, international aid, counterdrug activities and NASA space shuttle support.
Refueling
An HC-130 from the 79th Rescue Squadron at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., refuels a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter from the Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 769 at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.
