The contract of $ 140 million signed between the Navy and Embraer of Brazil, the last day on April 14, for the modernization of 12 fighter-bombers 4KU A-(AF-1) Skyhawk of Squadron VF-1, provides for the recovery of their current systems, in addition to the installation of new avionics systems, electrical generation and autonomous system for generating oxygen. After the modernization, the fighters will also work with new missiles and smart bombs.
One of the radars is proposed to modernize the Israeli ELTA 2032, which is already approved in A-4 Skyhawk in Israel.
The ELTA 2032 is an advanced multimode radar fire control, mission-oriented air-to-air and air-surface. It is of modular design, with software and interfaces to facilitate installation in existing aircraft to combat, according to the requirements of the operator. The radar was developed taking into account the experience of combat by pilots of the Air Force of Israel.
The equipment improved the ability of a game, especially in air-air arena, with extensive (80 miles) and the ability to crawl. In air to ground missions, the ELTA 2032 provides high-resolution SAR imaging and detection / tracking in modes RBM, DBS and SAR. In the air-sea mode, the power reaches 160 miles, and includes the ability to classify targets.
