A ceremonial JF-17 Painted with Pakistani flag on the downside and Chinese flag on above flies at Pakistan Day on 23rd March. JF-17 Thunder is jointly developed by CAC and PAC . First prototype flew in 2003 . Till now atleast 10 thunders have been inducted in Pakistan Air Force.

Incredible shot. The F-20 seems to be the closest western equivalent methinks. The Chinese are creating a formidable air force.
If u mean in terms of avionics then count F-16 in (a/b versions i mean) . BTW Chinese are not buying this plane AFAIK and yeah they have made huge progress in aviation industry. that's for sure/
PAF has future plans to acquire AESA and SD-10s for Thunder.
Is SD-10 still in pipe line ?? I was assuming J-10 were equipped with it .
Looks like the F-18 and F-16 "did it".
If u were to compare the airframe, then F-16 and F-20 seem more appropriate . But it sure has incorporated some aeronautical concepts seen earlier on F-18 (LERX) , F-35(DSI intake) and the F-16. It's avionics suit is derived from Chinese top notch J-10, thus making it comparable to F-16 block 40 (in terms of avionics only).
