No, if there's no ab flame touching the fuel vapors, there's no ignition of the vapors ;-)

They light the ABs to ignite the dumping fuel. It's not normal, they only do it in airshows. Very imressive effect, heh?

it is when they let some fuel go, generaly, by the rear part. there is a pipe by which, when you're too heavy to land, you throw some fuel through it
