maybe they keep few mig-29s flyable and sell those others?? lets look info somewhere!
Hungary bought originally 22 6 Fulcrums (22 B, and 6 UB). Now we have 5 (4 1) flyable aircraftst. These aircrafts provide the Quick Reaction Alert in Kecskemét Air force Base. 14 of the remaining exemplars are not in use, but can be used after a short maintenance (if necessery). 7 poor Fulcrums are used as sparepart-base.
Unfortunately the Fulcrums will be withdrawn from service in 2009, and the 14 Gripens will take over their tasks (the "PUMA" squadron - the squadron insignia is my avatar:)).
It is possible, that the Air Force will sell the aircrafts, but there are rumors, that the russians (the manufacturing company) get the planes, and - in exchange - they will modernize our MI-17 and Mi-24 helicopters.

I think Hungary has 28 Mig-29s but only less than 5 in flyable shape...gripen rules now Hungarian skies
5 out of 28?why they ruined those planes...
But Gripen is a good choice also...
Nice bird.
Do you know how many Mig-29's does Hungary have?
