Team Aerostars Dave Monroe Landing After Performance

Team Aerostars is a three ship demonstration team out of Cary, IL. They fly a Russian designed and Romanian built trainer aircraft the Yak-52TW (a tailwheel version of the very popular Yak-52). To date more than 1800 of these have been built. The engines are nine cylinder supercharged radial engines that cranks out 400 HP. Shows this year were limited but I have the good fortune of seeing them three times (Rockford, IL....Lake in the Hills, IL....and Peoria, IL) This photo is of the right wingman Dave Monroe as he comes in to land after their performance at Lake in the Hills.
