Howard Hughes in the XF-11

Taken just before take off on the test flight that almost killed him and civilians in their homes when one of the contra rotating props failed and sent him into the homes lining a golf course that he was attempting to reach for an emergency landing (landed short by only about 100metres) to see the full and brutal recreation of this famous crash,check out "The Aviator" movie starring Leonardo deCaprio as Hughes. The XF-11 was canned by USAF but was actually used to inspire the U2 programme.
